Biography
"Soltaniz (Arabic: فرقة سلطانيز) was a music group from Bahraini Iranians who released songs in Persian, as well as Larestani folk songs in Achomi (Bastaki dialect) and Arabic. The group was known in Bahrain as 'Farqat Soltaniz.' Their first album was released in 1989, and their last album in 2003. The lead singer of the group was Ahmad Sultan. The Bastaki song 'Naz Aken Naz Aken,' released on June 25, 1990, is one of the group's most popular songs. The chorus song 'Naz Nakon,' which was later released (in 1998), is derived from this song. Similarly, the Koorosh song 'Chai Chai' is derived from a Soltaniz song released in 1989. Other songs, like 'Raftom Be Bagh,' later inspired other songs, including the Iraqi Arabic song 'Hallah Hallah Ya Jamalak' by Oras Sattar."
